Head Photographer Chris De Jong graduated from Thompson EDU after spending 3 years studying the ins and outs of Photography and Journalism.
I'm a keen Surf Life Saver and Surfboat enthusiast of 15 years. I started taking photographs at local carnivals down in the Illawarra back in 2005. It was then I formed a relationship with Surf Life Saving's Official photographer Harvie Allison and till this day I contract out to Harvie Allison Photography and Contribute to his Surf Sports Magazine.
I then had a phone conversation with the head editor of Rowing MagOZine Australia about a few photos that they needed to publish for an article that was getting produced. It was in this conversation I advised them that he too done freelance photojournalism. I done up a mock article for the magazine, so impressed they were, I was fast pumping out images and articles for the magazine until it folded early 2008.
Now under the tutelage of Fairfax Head Photographer John Veage and SLSA Official Photographer Harvie Allison, I am fast becoming a renound photographer with a lot of my images appearing in Magazines and Newspaper articles around Australia. |
