Head Photographer Chris De Jong graduated from Thompson EDU after spending 3 years studying the ins and outs of Photography and Journalism.
Chris, a keen Surf Life Saver and Surfboat enthusiast of 15 years, started taking photographs at local carnivals down in the Illawarra back in 2005. It was then Chris formed a relationship with Surf Life Saving's Official photographer Harvie Allison and till this day Chris contracts out to Harvie Allison Photography and Contributes to his Surf Sports Magazine.
Chris then had a phone conversation with the head editor of Rowing MagOZine Australia about a few photos that they needed to publish for an article that was getting produced. It was in this conversation Chris advised them that he too done freelance photojournalism. Chris did up a mock article for the magazine, so impressed they were, Chris was fast pumping out images and articles for the magazine until it folded early 2008.
Now under the tutelage of Fairfax Head Photographer John Veage and SLSA Official Photographer Harvie Allison, Chris is fast becoming a renound photographer with alot of his images appearing in Magazines and Newspapers articles around Australia. |
